Divorce / Separation Ceremony Celebrant
The end of a marriage or long-term relationship can be a very emotional time for all involved: the couple, their children and friends and family. Divorce and separation ceremonies are designed to help with healing, encourage forgiveness and enable a couple to move on with their lives.
Holding a Ceremony to mark the end of a relationship can be a beautiful way to honour whatever was good about it but also to embrace new opportunities for growth and change. The Ceremony can be held with both partners present or just one half of the couple, and can be combined with a house-cleansing session involving the ritual burning of sage, which helps to dispel negative energy, if required.
I charge £400 for writing and conducting bespoke Divorce/Separation Ceremonies in London, Surrey, Hampshire, Kent and Sussex within a one-hour drive of Croydon. If you’d like to hold your Ceremony further afield or abroad, my fee will depend on the location and travelling time involved.
If you’d like a close friend or family member to conduct your Ceremony, I also offer the option of writing and editing your Ceremony for you but not attending the Ceremony itself (£300).
Planning your Divorce/Separation Ceremony
- The first step is to drop me a line to arrange a time when we can have an informal, no-obligation chat by phone or Skype so that you can get to know me and discuss the type of Divorce/Separation Ceremony you’d like.
- If you decide that you’d like me to conduct your Ceremony, I’ll email you a booking form asking for a non-refundable deposit of £300. Once I’ve received your deposit I’ll email you a questionnaire and suggestions for rituals you may wish to include in your Ceremony.
- Using the information you’ve given me, I will then create a bespoke Ceremony for you that will include any poems, readings or rituals that you’ve chosen so that you can amend anything you choose. Once you’re happy with your Ceremony, the remaining £100 is payable.
- On the day I’ll use the script we’ve created together in a Divorce or Separation Ceremony that will help to heal your heart, make peace with the past and celebrate new beginnings.
Please be advised that in order for me to be able to focus my full attention on making sure the Ceremony runs smoothly, I don’t use a PA system or microphones as technical difficulties can ruin a Ceremony and microphones don’t look good in photos. Similarly, if you’d like music to be played during the Ceremony, this is something a friend or relative will need to take care of for you.
